Wow, I love it!!!
This book is a MUST have for CIOs, CTOs, Legal Counsel, Quality, Compliance, and Audit teams everywhere!
Will your electronic mail be the evidence that can make or break your case? Can you use it to defend the position of your company during litigation? Regardless of your initial thought on this, I encourage you to read this book and THEN answer the question. You may be surprised to find that your current practices, as good as they may seem today, may not be sufficient and that you have much work ahead of you.
The forward thinking and knowledge that Jeffrey provides in this book will give you and your teams a better understanding of what can and will be challenged during litigation from both the technical and legal perspective. Understanding this is the foundation necessary to architect a solution that offers the desired outcome, quality evidence.
I would also encourage you to attend an event or workshop! Jeffrey is an eloquent speaker and his passion is clear. He is truly inspirational, a true thought leader!
Remember……It is not a matter of IF you will need to defend your position but rather WHEN. Are you ready?

Now that I have read Defending Electronic Mail as Evidence, The Critical EDiscovery Questions, I am so pleased that Jeffrey Ritter has finally put it all in writing. I expected that he would put much of his expertise into this book, but never expected he would include so much knowledge in one masterful document.
It has always been my advice that motivated and success-bound security professionals and business people should read a lot and do a fair amount of research to ensure they have all the bases covered, but after reading this book, I realize that, in truth, this book is all a security professional and general counsel need to read. As a matter of fact every person that has responsibility for the security of their organization should read this book. Every important aspect of ediscovery is covered in this book all packaged together and easy to understand, yet interesting enough for the seasoned General Counsel.
There are profound insights in this book, crucial details that separate it from every other book on the subject.
Jeffrey had a vision for this book that many people with his legal knowledge don’t think of….make a complicated and serious subject relatively easy for the business person, just follow the maps. And for those accomplished attorneys out there, it’s also in the text format that you are used to seeing. But it’s OK to follow the maps--no one will know.
